SMILES ALL AROUND- GIFT A SMILE

The students of Interact Club and class IX carried out a Gift a Smile campaign. As a part of this campaign, they distributed toothbrush and toothpastes along with food items, biscuits etc. to the underprivileged children and people. COMMUNITY OUTREACH SPREAD WARMTH, SAVE LIVES

As Delhi witnessed a severe cold wave, School Interact Club students launched the noble campaign “ Spread Warmth, Save lives”.

They organized a donation drive to collect new blankets and woollen clothes. The same was distributed to slum dwellers on January 19, 2023.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH WEEK  (SEPTEMBER 19, TO SEPTEMBER 23, 2022)

  • To imbibe the qualities of sharing and caring in our children, a community outreach programme was organised for the students of classes I to V.
  • The program provided a platform for our students to interact with underprivileged children. The aim of the programme was to sensitize the children to be kind and grateful.

BOOK DONATION INITIATIVE 

The community outreach initiative aimed at encouraging children to step forward to donate their used textbooks, unused notebooks and spare stationery was initiated so that they can be re-used by other children.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH DAY 

As a joint endeavor of School Interact Club and Mental Health Department, school organized a one day fun camp for children from nearby slum areas.

One day long fiesta comprised of:

1)Mental health activities

2)Sessions on Good touch and bad touch

3)Experiential science experiments

4)Handwashing activity

5) Storytelling and fun games

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN BY INTERACT CLUB STUDENTS

SMILES ALL AROUND- HELPING THE HELPERS

On the occasion of Interact Club Day,  'SMILES ALL AROUND” the latest initiative by Interact Club, envisioned to bring joy and succor to those who have always thought of our comfort.

Children were encouraged to assemble GRATITUDE KITS (comprising of biscuits, fruits, juices etc.) and distribute them to their real superheroes- Traffic Policemen, Guards, Housemaids.

AWARENESS ON MENSTRUAL HYGIENE

Parents and Students from class VI to X attended a webinar on World Menstrual Hygiene Day organized by Health Champs. The webinar aimed at removing the taboo and stigma related to menstruation. It also dealt with the issues of menstrual hygiene.

The students were encouraged to talk to their maids and helpers about menstrual hygiene and remove any kind of misconceptions regarding this.

CORONA WARRIORS

There is no dearth of compassion, kindness and human goodness as we together overcome these times of distress. We are extremely proud of our students who have been the true saviors- championing the cause of humanity and being the beacons of kindness and compassion.

A number of donation campaigns were carried by the students and parent community during the lockdown period which included the following:

  • Donation of food items- ready food items and dry rations- Donation campaigns for food and supplies were carried out by students of all classes. The campaign was whole heartedly supported by the parent community who not only encouraged and motivated their wards but themselves also joined in the noble campaign.
  • Donation of Masks – Many students also took up the mask donating campaigns in an effort to create awareness about masking up against Covid-19 virus
  • Feeding the Strays- The students also initiated a novel campaign of feeding the stray animals during this period. Our students upheld the true human values of compassion and benevolence through this gesture of kindness towards animals
  • Book Donation- Students were encouraged to donate their book-sets for re-use for the under-privileged children.

These gestures of kindness by our students have brought the community closer together and have proven through their selfless service that love and kindness always win.

PLANTING  SAPLINGS AND AIR PURIFIER PLANTS IN THE SCHOOL PREMISES

As a part of the Green Initiative, students planted saplings in the school premises. Air purifying plants were planted in all corridors of the school.

 Plogging Run - Swachata Abhiyan

As a befitting tribute to the Father of the Nation the FIT INDIA Plogging Run was organised by the school for the students of classes VI-X. The participants collected single use plastic garbage while running. The plastic garbage was collected from school, adjoining streets and open spaces along the path of the Run.

Thalassemia Workshop

A workshop on Thalassemia awareness was conducted in the school premises for the students of Class IX . The workshop was organized by the school Interact Club  in association with the Rotary Club of Delhi Janak.

Hygiene Kits Distribution

 The Interact Club students initiated a novel campaign to promote health and hygiene .Hygiene kits consisting of toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, hair-oil were distributed to the workers in the school.

 

Toy, Books ,Clothes and Food ATM installation

Keeping up with the spirit and joy of giving, the Interact club of BBPS, dwarka initiated the idea of installing clothes, books, Food and toy ATMs in the school itself. The idea was to collect both old and new clothes, books, toys for the students who need them. A Food ATM in form of a refrigerator  has been installed at the reception where cooked, surplus/unused  food is kept.

 

Celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas/ National Unity Day

National Unity day was celebrated  to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of national integration of Independent. A  Pledge Taking Ceremony to mark the occasion was conducted during the assembly Hours) . Students also participated in the "Run for Unity" which was  conducted within the school premises.

Celebration of Swachhata Pakhwada

Swachhata Pakhwada was celebrated in school in which students from class I-X participated in various activities. The activities ranged from workshops on correct hand washing techniques and cleanliness drives to organizing Swachhata rally in the school premises.

KERALA RELIEF FUND INITIATIVE

The students, parents and teachers of the school joined hands together to contribute generously towards the relief operations for flood hit Kerala to donate huge quantities of essentials like -

  1. a) food supplies like - sugar, tea, coffee, milk powder; grains such as tur dal and rice
  2. b) daily essentials like - bathing soaps, sanitary napkins etc.

Interact Club member collected, labelled and packed all the materials. These were dispatched in collaboration with the NGO- GOONJ, to the disaster struck state.

INTERACTION WITH SNEH KUNJ STUDENTS

Spastic students of Sneh Kunj were invited to interact with young Bal Bharatians. Children presented interesting dances and organized community lunch for their “special” friends

SPREAD THE WARMTH

The Interact Club of school was a part of the campaign “Spread the Warmth”- a pan-India collection drive in association with the NGO-Goonj, where in the students collected clothes /winter wears / blankets for needy and poor people.

VISIT TO BASTI VIKAS KENDRA

The interact club members visited Basti Vikas Kendra where they provided training in MS office, PowerPoint, Excel worksheets and MS word to young adults as a part of their skill development program.

National Immunisation Day (NID) 

Our Interactors and Delegates from Rotary international UK participated in the National Immunisation Day Rotary drive and administered Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) drops to children.

Polio Rally 

The Interactors participated in the ‘KEEP INDIA POLIO FREE – Rally’ in the JJ Cluster near Maharaja Agarsain Public School, Ashok Vihar. The event witnessed the participation of over 250 Rotarians from U.K., Ireland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Japan, USA etc.

Interact Club members collected blankets and donated them to workers in the school as a mark of solidarity with them.
