GANDHI JAYANTI

In an inspiring tribute to the Father of the Nation, Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on October 1, 2024, commemorating the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. This year's theme, “Embodying Gandhi's Legacy: A Path to Peace and Harmony,” underscored the relevance of Gandhiji's principles in today’s world and aimed to instil his values of peace, non-violence, and selfless service in young minds from Grade 3 to 5. APPRECIATION DAY (SEPTEMBER 07, 2024)

Appreciation Day was celebrated to laud achievements of students in academics and co-scholastic areas . The Chief Guest Ms. Kalpana Kapoor, an esteemed educationist and former Principal of the DPSG group of schools, honoured  meritorious students and appreciated captivating dance and music  performances .Nimisha Das (12 A) and Suhas Arora (9 B) received a special award for  christening the Mascot of BBPS Olympics as BalBee.

 
ENGLISH LANGUAGE WEEK (SEPTEMBER 9 -  SEPTEMBER 13, 2024)

English Language Week included interactive events like Gallery Walk and Character Dramatizations, Spell-O-Mania and Flip the Flop. The Book Donation Drive was an initiative to encourage students to share books and promote literacy. These activities motivated students to develop a deeper appreciation for language and its power to enhance our understanding of the world.

 
'INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS (AUGUST 14, 2024)

The school celebrated the 78th Independence Day with a flag hoisting ceremony led by the School Principal. Students actively participated in a variety of activities to invigorate patriotic fervour.

ANTI TOBACCO AWARENESS CAMPAIGN (AUGUST 3, 2024)

A PPT presentation was conducted for class IX students to sensitize them about the perils of e-cigarettes. The presentation detailed the health risks of e-cigarettes and traditional cigarettes, and advocated for their prohibition. It was followed by an interactive session, effectively engaging students and highlighting the importance of supporting a ban to safeguard public health.

 
THE NATIONAL OPEN ORATORY CONTEST (AUGUST 27, 2024)

  • Students of Classes VII -XII participated in "The Spiritual Eloquence," organized by Dhyan-Kaksh, Faridabad, in collaboration with Satyug Darshan Sangeet Kala Kendra and the Humanity Development Club.
  • Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's teachings and the principles of the School of Equanimity and Even-Sightedness, the contest aimed to foster values of sacrifice, courage, and righteousness, aligning with the ideals of Gandhi Jayanti.
 
EMPOWERING YOUNG ENVIRONMENTALISTS:THROUGH THE 'CONSERVE MY PLANET' INITIATIVE (AUGUST 21, 2024)

  • School collaborated with Sharp NGO, Schneider India and launched the "Conserve My Planet" educational project for students in classes 5 to 8.
  • The project aims to educate young minds about the importance of conserving energy and protecting the environment.
  • A capacity-building program for teachers was organised at Schneider Electric, Gurgaon, to equip them with requisite skills to ensure effective execution and successful culmination of the project.
 
GREEN ASSEMBLY (SEPTEMBER 12, 2024)

  • “Green Assembly" was organized wherein 100 students from classes V, VI, and VII were appointed as Green Ambassadors.
  • These ambassadors will play a key role in promoting eco-friendly practices among their peers through active participation in conservation activities.
 
LIBRARY INITIATIVES – GLAD BOOK AND SAD BOOK (JULY 28, 2024)
The Literary Club students presented an engaging skit titled "Glad Book and Sad Book" to promote proper book handling. They portrayed the emotions of books when treated with care versus when mishandled. The "Glad Book" symbolized books that are well-loved, with intact pages and neat covers, while the "Sad Book" illustrated the consequences of neglect, such as torn pages and scribbles. The skit effectively taught the audience the importance of respecting and caring for books, making the lesson both memorable and impactful.
 
LIBRARY INITIATIVES – MASTERING NEWSPAPER ETIQUETTE (JULY 28, 2024)

"Mastering Newspaper – Read, Reflect, and Respond" was conducted to help students develop reading, comprehension, and critical thinking skills.  They were encouraged to ask questions and share their opinions. The activity helped to raise awareness of current events, foster good reading habits, and boost students' confidence.

 
THINKING WALL

The "Thinking Walls" concept, part of the BaLA (Building as a Learning Aid) project, is an innovative approach to fostering critical thinking skills among students. By integrating interactive and engaging activities, students cultivate curiosity and inquiry-based learning, enhancing problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

 
GOAL SETTING IN ACTION - GOLDILOCKS MOMENTS

Goal setting is more than just a task – it’s an essential engagement. Students dive deep into what we call “Goldilocks Moments”. This practice empowers students to categorize their learning into three zones: Too Hard, Too Easy, Just Right. This approach not only helps students take control of their learning but also foster the sense of accomplishment and growth.

 
CLASSROOM WITHOUT DUSTBINS

Class V's zero-waste policy is an initiative to foster a culture of sustainability and responsibility among students. By eliminating dustbins from the classes, mindful consumption and minimalism is encouraged. The focus is on promoting the value of cleanliness and environmental stewardship.

 
SHIN PROGRAM – INTERACTIVE LEARNING
The SHIN Program's approach to teaching patterns using puzzles and cubes has proved to be highly effective in engaging Grade 3, 4 and 5 students, nurturing their pattern recognition and spatial thinking skills. The interactive and visual nature of the activity captures the students interest and make learning patterns enjoyable.
 
FINANCIAL LITERACY

Students of Grade 4 participated in a simulated "Barter Fair". This hands-on activity helped them experience the Barter System firsthand, teaching them the importance of negotiation, distinguishing between wants and needs, and the challenges of finding mutually beneficial trades. They learnt how to effectively communicate and make decisions, while understanding the limitations of barter system.

 
WISE TIME – HANDS ON LEARNING

The Wisetime Maths Kit enhances math teaching by offering hands-on tools that simplify complex concepts through visual and tactile learning. It encourages active engagement, making abstract ideas more relatable and easier to understand. By promoting problem-solving and critical thinking, it helps students grasp mathematical principles intuitively.

 
ANNUAL HINDI PLAY
Hindi Play “Saraswati Ek Pavitra Nadi” was staged by young Bal Bharatians depicting rich amalgamation of dance, drama, music and art to create a cornucopia which was appreciated by all including the chief guest Mr. Barin Chakravorty, an author, storyteller and performer.
 
INVESTITURE CEREMONY (Senior) May 18, 2024
The newly constituted student council was bestowed with badges of honour by school Principal and chief guest Ms. Harshali Singh (Renowned Author and Judge Consumer Court of Delhi) in presence of proud parents and peers.INVESTITURE CEREMONY (Junior) May 18, 2024 School held its Investiture Ceremony for the junior student council under the able guidance of the school Principal. The occasion was graced by the honourable chief guest, Shri Ravinder Kumar Pandey (Retd. IPS). The ceremony underscored the importance of student engagement and leadership.
 
ORIENTATION TOOL KITThe first day of the new academic session featured engaging ice-breaking activities like friendship band exchanges and affirmations, reflections, fostering camaraderie among students. These activities aimed to promote collaboration, self-expression, and networking skills essential for a successful academic year ahead.
 
ADAPTATION WEEK

To make the first day of school memorable and facilitate a smooth transition of our Bal Bharatians from home to school, an exciting ‘Adaptation week’ was organized. Our new members were warmly welcomed by the facilitators. A thrilling assortment of fun -filled activities was planned to create the happiest and most cherished memories. The week commenced with activities such as Greeting Namaskar, Fitness frenzy (a set of collaborative games) Happy Hoppers (Buddy game), Wacky wonders (Story narration through playful puppets) followed by Mystery of senses (multisensory activities), Yoga moves (simple animal poses through yoga movements), Wonder fest (sensory exploration and cognitive development activities), Rolling on the floor (Dance Party) and Jolly Lollies (Making of a decorative crafty lolly.) PRE-SCHOOL ORIENTATION PROGRAM (2024-25)

BBPS Dwarka organised an Orientation Program to familiarize children with school environment and to apprise the parents of the Preschool curriculum, multifarious activities and infrastructure. The program commenced with a welcome address followed by a spectacular Invocation dance. ART EXHIBITION (23 January, 2024 )

Vibrant creations in vivid hues adorned the canvasses displayed in the School Reception on 23 January, 2024 to augment the spirit of joy with the advent of spring. The creative expressions of budding artists were appreciated by all visitors.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS (25 JANUARY, 24)

The Republic Day celebrations featured vibrant dance and melodious musical performances, adding a colorful and patriotic flair to the festivities.

 
VALEDICTION VOYAGE (FEBRUARY 3, 2024)

  • The school bade farewell to Class XII in a meticulously curated cultural program that embodied the spirit of camaraderie and nostalgia. Batch representatives of Bal Bharati Alumni Association were invested with responsibility of upholding the ethos of “Bhartians Forever”.
  • The poignant gratitude speeches by the Head Girl and the Head Boy resonated deeply with attendees. Soul-stirring performances and theatrical renditions imbued a sense of nostalgia among the outgoing batch of students.
 
SPORTS DAY (28 FEBRUARY 2024)

The school grounds came abuzz with colour, gaiety and exuberance as the preschool and pre-primary students celebrated Sports Day. We share some glimpses of the energetic and cheerful cultural performances and the various competitions in which our ebullient 3 to 4-year-old young learners participated whole-heartedly.

 
JOY OF GIVING WEEK (JAN 19-24, 2024)

School celebrated Joy of Giving Week to sensitize students and instil in them empathy, compassion, and gratitude. The motto of the school ‘Service before Self’ was reflected in the simple acts of generosity, fostering benevolence and selflessness.

 
CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL VOTERS DAY 2024 (JANUARY 25, 2024)

The vibrant spirit of democracy echoed through the corridors the school as students and faculty united to commemorate National Voters Day. The event  aimed to instill a sense of civic responsibility and awareness among the students. To make the celebration engaging, various activities were organized:
